The Last Judgment

(Revelation 12, 19–21)

John knew death wasn't the end of every-thing. He wrote about what would happen at the end of time: "There was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. But the dragon wasn't strong enough. The dragon, that old snake called the devil, or Satan, was thrown into the lake of burning sulphur. "I saw heaven standing open. There in front of me was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True. When he judges or makes war, he is always fair. "I saw a great white throne and One sitting on it. I saw the dead, great and small, standing in front of the throne. Books were opened, including the Book of Life. The dead were judged by what they had done. The things they had done were written in the books. Anyone whose name wasn't written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire. "I saw a new heaven and a new earth. It doesn't need the sun or moon. God's glory is its light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life will enter the city."
